Cookie-Cutters Not Needed
Because God cares for the whole person, every need serves as an access point for the Gospel. Each “lack” or “brokenness” is an opportunity for Jesus to bless families and communities with health and wholeness.
At 10/40 Connections, we do not presume to have all the answers. Nor do we think that what works in one situation will automatically work everywhere. There is no “Universal Discipleship Curriculum”! Rather it takes an ear to the ground, an awareness of the real needs and capacities of local people, and a reliance on the Holy Spirit, to know what are a community’s true needs.
In coordination with our local partners, we have recognized a variety of felt needs among the communities we seek to bless. In response, we have developed a “toolbox” of potential ways to meet these needs. Through addressing these felt needs in the name of Jesus, people’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
These tools help people understand that God cares for them in their specific situation. Obviously, we serve the whole community regardless of their religious background and regardless of their response to the Good News of Jesus. Jesus loves people where they are – and we do too!
Over the years we have found many open doors through which families and communities can be blessed, including:
- The Hope video
- Water wells
- Women’s health seminars
- Facial surgeries
- Goat farms
- Sewing centers
- Cataract surgeries, and more.
If you would like to know more about any of these door-opening projects and heart-opening tools, please contact us.
Jesus said, "Pray the Lord to send out laborers, for the harvest is plentiful, but he workers are few." That is the mission of 10/40 Connections – to follow the example of Jesus by connecting the body of Christ, equipping believers, and engaging the least reached.
