CO-DIRECTORS – CHAD & LESLIE

Ministry Bios

Chad and Leslie are motivational teachers and speakers whose greatest passion is to see the Great Commission completed in their lifetime. As entrepreneurial, mission-focused leaders, teachers, and award-winning writers with extensive international experience, Leslie and Chad love theology made practical – where good thinking leads to active engagement in a broken world.

In 2000 they co-founded 10/40 Connections which seeks to meet tangible needs through the Name of Christ. Since its founding, 10/40 has helped rescue and restore thousands of women from trafficking, fed and educated hundreds of at-risk children, planted numerous house churches among unreached people groups, installed dozens of water wells offering clean water to thousands, promoted teaching that advocates for the unborn and women, and more. They write curriculum that encourages the Church in the least-reached areas of the world, and they equip believers who want to engage in practical cross-cultural living.

2Chad and Leslie have lived in India, China, the Middle East, and Thailand. Both graduated from Fuller Seminary with doctorates of Missiology in 2009. They now serve as co-catalysts for “Men and Women Partnering in the Gospel,” with the Lausanne Movement*.

Married for 20+ years, Chad and Leslie direct 10/40 Connections from the U.S. base in Chattanooga, TN. They have four children – Joeli, Joy (in heaven), Eden Samuel, and Phoebe (adopted from China). They currently reside in SE Asia.

Their first book, Engaged in Love and War: Living a Life of Commitment and Courage was published in 2017. Search the 10/40 website for episodes of their podcast Live It Out! Or check out videos on 10/40’s YouTube page, or browse the 10/40 Resource page to download their multiple eBooks.

*Lausanne was started by Billy Graham and John Stott in 1974.

Ministry Seminar Topics

The Global Church: Current International Trends of Male-Female Partnership
Want to grapple with global trends and dive into stories of triumph and tragedy from the worldwide Church? Leslie and Chad present an uplifting and powerful overview of men and women working together (or not). Those with a desire to see God’s purposes fulfilled will be encouraged and challenged by what can happen when men and women work together. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. 60-minute presentation.

The Task Remaining: The People Group Challenge
Is there an ultimate “finish line” in this marathon called the Christian life? Chad and Leslie introduce (or expand upon) numerous concepts including: the 10/40 Window; unreached, unengaged people groups; and church planting movements. Be ready to think strategically and do your part in God’s great story. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. Can be done in a single, rapid 60-minute presentation, but preferred with three talks of 45 minutes each. (Also can be adapted to a sermon length of time).

Cast the Net: God’s Character, God’s Kingdom, God’s Mission
Come wrestle with critical topics that just might rock your world. How can the Trinity give you a starting point to grapple with multiple social issues confronting the Church today? How does God’s character impact how we view, understand, and engage social issues that surround us? Jesus’ first sermon introduced a dangerous counter-cultural kingdom; are you living it out practically? How are you co-laboring with God in His mission to extend the kingdom throughout the earth? What else needs to be done to accomplish His mission? Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. From a single 60-minute presentation, to a 2-3 day weekend conference, or even a Master’s Level course.

Engaged in Love and War: Living a Life of Commitment and Courage
Thought-provoking and response-evoking, Engaged in Love and War takes participants on a journey into the dangerous, endearing, and sacrificial responsibility of every believer. Leslie and Chad mobilize Christ-followers to realize that their gentle Savior invites them into a raging battle. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. From a single 60-minute presentation to a 2-3 day weekend conference.

3Concerts of Prayer: Majority World Religions
For congregations and groups who desire to intercede with insight and inspiration. Chad and Leslie work with your worship team to create a deep, powerful, and informational event. Choose one (or more) religious block to focus on, and prepare your hearts and minds to bless these nations. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. The concerts usually run 60-90 minutes including worship music.

The God of Justice: The Divine Basis for Anti-Trafficking Efforts
We all know human trafficking is a scourge on the earth. But what is the ultimate foundation for right social action? Even our U.S. pledge seeks “justice for all,” but who decides what is truly just? Using local and international illustrations, Chad and Leslie provide a theological framework for sustaining long-term engagement with the traumas of life—and God’s rescue mission in the midst. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. From a single 60-minute presentation, to three talks of 45 minutes each.

4God’s Global Heart…And Your Place In It
Open your eyes and examine God’s mission from four distinct frameworks: biblical, historical, cultural, and strategic. Similar to Perspectives, this curriculum introduces Christians to God’s Global Purpose and how they can best engage. Chad and Leslie facilitate this multi-week course for those interested in going deeper in theology and practice of God’s mission. Suitable for men and women, teenagers and above. These lessons and full course run for 12 weeks.

Other topics: Missio Dei: God’s Mission from Genesis to Revelation; Kingdom Leadership Principles; Sharing Your Faith (with majority religions); The Other Side of Evolution; The Sum is Greater: Building Strong Mission Partnerships; Repeat/Do Not Repeat!: A Brief History of Cross-Cultural Mission; No Limited Pie: Strategic Generosity of Mission Funds; or Chad and Leslie can create a new program for your specific needs. Leslie and Chad often speak at churches, universities, seminaries, and training schools.

About Us

Jesus said, "Pray the Lord to send out laborers, for the harvest is plentiful, but he workers are few." That is the mission of 10/40 Connections – to follow the example of Jesus by connecting the body of Christ, equipping believers, and engaging the least reached.
