Through water, many meet Jesus! 

As of 2013 have installed over 75 water wells impacting 75 villages and blessing over 40,000 people with clean water to drink, the hope of diminished disease and sickness, less hard labor in hauling water great distances, and more access to the Gospel!

“Many people in villages of India experience a scarcity of water.  Many walk a long distance to get water, and at times the water they find is muddy.  But now, in partnership with 10/40 CONNECTIONS, we have provided 45 hand-pumps in 40 different villages.  These bore wells reach down 180 feet and provide clean drinking water.

“In the Bhow. village, we placed a hand-pump (bore well) in a community of “Untouchables.”  These are people considered outcasts and are treated worse than animals.  We got permission from the leaders of the village to dig a hand pump for these people.  These people are so much obliged to us, and the whole community of the outcast people is now open to the Gospel.  Now we have an opening to plant house churches among the people.  Praise the Lord.  We thank all the donors and sponsors for changing the lives of these people.”

Both physical thirst and spiritual thirst abound in North India!  Clean drinking water is often in short supply.

Some of the ways these water wells become a blessing to the community while avoiding social problems include:

1. Each well assists a known church planter to gain access to an unreached village.
2. Each well will be installed by local professionals whose reputation will be on the line for any failure.
3. Each well will be accompanied by a sanitation/hygiene curriculum that will help villagers understand the benefits of this particular bore well, as opposed to run-off water.
4. Each well comes with a signed contract from the local village leadership panchyat affirming:
   Guarantee of access – The right to plant the well on donated public grounds
   Guarantee of local buy-in – The provision of concrete by the local people
   Guarantee of ongoing functioning – The commitment for maintenance by local people
