10/40 CONNECTIONS seeks to enter other nations with humility and teachability. As a core value of our organization, we seek relational connections. We build relationships with indigenous believers and leaders. As God directs the relationships, we work in partnership with ministries in which we share similar goals. We seek to come alongside existing indigenous ministries and enhance their skills and capacity to enable them to fulfill their own vision to reach their own people. We look for believers who are engaging practically in holistic ministry – both the word and the deed of the Gospel working in unison.
The days of neo-colonialism are over! Neo-colonialism is when the foreigner enters a nation and seeks to lead from the top. We are opposed to this type of ministry! Yet we are also opposed to neo-nationalism which is where the indigenous person seeks to control the foreigner. Today there is unprecedented opportunity for both cross-cultural workers and indigenous believers to form mutual partnerships that reflect the Body of Christ- with mutual honor, respect, love, and service. We have adopted this approach and actively engage in working to see this level of relational connections take place.
We desire to see believers around the world to quit flying denominational and organizational banners and for us all to pick up the Kingdom of God banner. We strive to work in partnership in order to promote His Kingdom among the least reached.
We work in partnership because we see in Scripture the mandate for unity. Jesus prayed for such unity in his prayer in John 17:21-23. Beautiful synergy and power occur in the Gospel when the world sees believers working in unity. We celebrate diversity and rejoice with unity.
Jesus said, "Pray the Lord to send out laborers, for the harvest is plentiful, but he workers are few." That is the mission of 10/40 Connections – to follow the example of Jesus by connecting the body of Christ, equipping believers, and engaging the least reached.
